What are your other favourite female singer ?
HI everybody !
Does someone know Ane Brun ?
She's a norvegian songwriter, living actually in Sweden (if i've all understood well), and i'm discovering her now on her website (http://www.anebrun.com), and i'm wondering if i won't give more attention to her and buy her albums (c;
(I had a look on cdon.com, her first album is at good price, as "Sing and Dance" - the only album of Sophie that I haven't ).
Yes Ane Brun is great. Both her album are highly recommended! Can remind a little about Sophie, but maybe even slower... Anyway, great singer, great voice!

I bought her album yesterday
Black Horse and the Cherry Tree is an hit on radio since one month in France, but it's after seeing her on TV (on tarata) that I wanted to buy her cd : I really like too.
I don't feel it's sometime like Sophie, but it's just great
Fortunatly, there're some good cd to buy and discover while we're waiting for the next album

KT Tunstall album is really good (it follows me mornings and evenings in the train).
I've made a new purchase last Week End : Feist, 27 years old Canadian singer ('Mushaboom' and 'One Evening' are the most known).
Original, simple and fun music (between folk, jazz, pop and a piece of disco

Another new artist in my list : Emiliana Torrini ...
I'm listening to her album for the first time, now, while i'm sending this message : Very cool, good arrangements, beautiful voice, ....
Just guitar, acoustic, and her beautiful voice (I've already said that ?)
I've just discovered her, but this is her second (international) album, Fisherman's Woman, and she became famous with her first (international) album, "Love in the time of science", more trip-hop/electronic/portishead like apparently (but I haven't listened to this at this time).
Her albums are on my own Christmas list

Hi everybody,
I quite agree with all of you.
My favourite female singer is Sophie Zelmani, that's pretty sure.
I really like Emilia Torrini, but if you know her Fisherman's CD is very different from the first one that I love !
I also like Jewel a lot. Few years ago, when she released This Way, she was plan to do a concert in Paris. But it was cancelled, because she felt from a horse. I was so disappointed. I never see her since...
I like Keren Ann (french song writer) too and many others.
Hélène
From the Club Dorothée ? Weird... Anyway, everyone got its tastes !
