The Ocean and Me Tour 2008

Right...

Half a year from the previous message in this thread, and Sophie is going to start her new tour in Zurich in two weeks.

I am going to the concert in Vienna on Sep 24 and would like to listen to the songs live. Close to the audience. Almost-whispering-private songs.

I noticed that the tour includes different venues in different countries: opera-like halls like in Zurich, and club-slyle floors like in Vienna. Hopefully, Sophie's music will fit in the second type of halls better.

Anyway... Is anyone is going to the performances and eager to share the memories?

I have to wait a little longer then you, but I will visit the concert in Stockholm on October 21.
I think it will be very different then the concerts I have been before, because this a very big venue, and will be seated.
This far, I only have been to concerts in small clubs and a church. And this will be in Sweden, where sophie is real folk-pop-star :P

But I'm really looking forward to it :D

It will be so great to see Sophie again, I'll also see the concert in Vienna and it will be a wonderful reminder of past days back home in Sweden. I'm really glad that the austrian people seems to like Sophie enough that she is going here!

Does anyone know anything about the venue in Vienna? Is it small or big, will there be any kind of pre-band and is the S-bahn the best way to go from Praterstern?

I'm really hoping that she will play "Your way", "A thousand times" and "Nostalgia". Nostalgia would really make my day as a Swede in unknown territories..!

Zurich, today. My first concert with Sophie, I learned her music only in last 2-3 months, she performed very good, very professional, a man from about third line said between two songs: "I love you", she answered confident: "I love you too -  especielly today". For me was instrumentall music sometimes to heavy. Three bonus songs, additionally one more: Dreamer. Thanks Sophie.

Andreas  :) :) :) :) :) :)

Just back from Sophie's wonderful concert in Zurich:

The decoration of the stage was inspired by a sailing boat, I assume.
Some other things I noticed:
Sophie had lyric sheets for her songs next to her.
When she played guitar, she played an acoustic guitar instead of the electric guitar she used to play.
Like on her "Decade of dreams" tour, she passed around a book where the public could write something about themselves so that she would get to know us. Unfortunately, the book didn't made it to my seat.
The new guitar player, Jonas Lindström, added some nice electric, pedal steel and even keyboard playing to the songs.

The setlist:
1. I forgot to write that one down and can't remember the name of the song, only that it had a long intro.
2.Yeah, Okey
3.Wind took my sail
4.I can't change
5. The ocean and me
6.How Different
7.Travelling
8.Love
9.Gone with the madness
10.Most of the time !!! (Bob Dylan cover)
11.Time
12.Moonlight
13.July waits
14.Love on my mind
15. Composing

16.Going home (An extraordinary version which started as a very slow song)
17. To know you
18.I will be there

19. Dreamer

It was a wonderful concert: The decoration, the lighting, the atmosphere (she got a thunderous applause from the crowd)....just too short (about 100 minutes) and no songs from the first two albums...

Oh Dear?

Thanks for the great review.  :)

No, the first song wasn't "Oh dear". It was a faster song, at first, I thought it would be "Time" from the new album, but that one came later in the show.
Maybe someone else who was at the concert can help ::)

"So Long"? It reminds me a lot of "Time"...

No "Travelling" was number 7... I didn't see the concert, but I think it must have been the Aranjuez version of "So Long" ;)

OK, so it was just a long intro for "Yeah Okey". :) Great to see it's still 19 songs, and "This room" also are included. Thanks a lot.

Anyone saw Sophie in Bern or/and see her tonight in Geneve? Is it the same setlist? I like the setlist from Zürich, but I was hoping she would play "I've got a suspicion", I think that would be interesting to hear live. Also glad she did "Love on my mind" - my favorite from "Memory Loves You". :)

The concert yesterday in Bern was just fantastic and wonderful. One of the best concert I've ever seen.
