Sophie's singing

Post by Black_Day » 09 May 2008, 20:13

Any thoughts on the way Sophie sings?

I think over the years she has changed her singing somewhat, to more of a soft and whispering singing style.

Especially the singing on her debut album is different from her latest records.

What do you think about this?

I agree with those observations and found the latest album too soft and careful in the singing so I hope there is more energy for the next album.

I really hope that the new album will be a little more a 'pop-music-style'.  So, this means the use of a little more strong voice too.  I like her 'whispering-voice' but the latest albums were mostly inspired by this kind of singing.    For the general sales of an album it would be better that it becomes a pop-album.  Here in Belgium you can only find the 2 first albums in specialized shops.  The later work is unfindable.    It's a pitty she isn't doing any television-shows to promote the album.  No reviews too in the music magazines from Belgium and The Netherlands.

Her strong voice like in "You and him" is very nice, let's hope she uses it again.
